I know I shouldn’t have to justify my baby name but I’m having to. My partner hates the name I’ve chosen but I’m sticking to my guns on this. I’ve had his first name picked out since last year when we had the two miscarriages and every time I’m listening to the music associated with the name, I smile. Which, to me, makes me realize that I’ve made the right choice.
The name which is causing the commotion…
That’s right…..I’ve chosen to name my son (when he gets here!), Finn. I think it’s a lovely name and I think my reasoning behind it is justifies the name.
You see, originally, I picked out the name while I was watching Glee…..I know. I was a Gleek at one stage but I loved the character Finn and really who he was resonated with me. Finn Hudson (Glee Character) was a fantastic role model. He was a gentle soul who, while he didn’t know what he wanted out of life, was a naturally approachable person who treated people with respect. Even though he was a TV character, his characteristics just resonated with me, something that stuck with me and I decided at that point that that was what I was going to call my son.
One of the other, I suppose, characters that I want my son named after is a wrestler by the name of Finn Balor.
Now, this one is also one that makes me smile.
You see, back a couple of years ago, Finn Balor became the first ever Universal Champion and lost it soon after due to injury. But then, April 3rd, 2017…HE RETURNED! I remember marking out so bad (I normally am a little OTT when something wrestling excites me but any who….) and I just remember being like “I’M TEAM FINN ALL THE WAY!”
I can’t really explain it but I love watching Finn Balor wrestle and I love his theme music and so I thought well, it wouldn’t be me if my son wasn’t partly named after a wrestler so there you go….that worked out well.
So there you have it.
Again, can’t believe that I’m having to write this out but I’ve got to get it off my chest. It’s something that has bothered me for a while as my partner, as I said, doesn’t like the name but he also won’t come up with any others. I tell him if he wants a different name, then write them down, but at this point, nothing. So Finn it is 🙂
